At its base, the vase is meticulously sculpted from an icy black jadeite boulder, subtly streaked with deep emerald green. The interplay of these hues gives the vase a mysterious, almost celestial depth—like mist drifting over a forested mountain at night. Its unpolished surface gleams with a smooth lustre, anchoring the composition with quiet strength and contrast.

Emerging from the vase is the orchid, carved from a striking translucent jadeite of brilliant orangey red hue. This jadeite displays a rare two-colour formation, where vivid orangey red blossoms flow gracefully into warm golden yellow accents at the tips, mimicking the natural gradation found in living orchid petals. The translucency allows light to pass through, creating a glowing effect that gives the flowers an ethereal, lifelike presence.

Completing the piece are the orchid leaves, masterfully shaped from Green Jasper (碧玉). Our Master artisan has chosen a shade and pattern so closely resembling real orchid foliage that the leaves seem almost alive. Their subtle veins, curvature, and slightly glossy surface lend the entire carving an astonishing realism, as though the bonsai might sway with the slightest breeze.
